Family Practice
Dr. Seufert joined the Family Practice Department here at Cassidy Medical Group in 2006 and has practiced in our Urgent Care facility for several years. He is Board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine for Family Practice and additionally for CAQ (certificate added qualification) Sports Medicine. He attended the University of Notre Dame where he earned a Bachelor of Science
with honors. He earned his medical degree from Temple
University Medical School, 1987. Dr. Seufert completed his Residency in Family Practice at the Jacksonville Naval Hospital and completed his Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of California, San Diego.
During his career as a Navy physician, Dr. Seufert held several positions of note, the most recent being the position of Family Practice & Sports Medicine Department Head and staff physician at Camp Pendleton, 1999-2004 and Department Head Sports Medicine & Family Practice and staff physician at SMART Center, MCRD-San Diego, 2004-2006.
Dr. Seufert has authored publications regarding passive smoking exposure which has appeared in the American Family Practitioner Newspaper, 1994, and Southern Medical Journal, 1996. He has participated in interviews for the Navy Newstand on Sports Medicine, 2002 and for the Leatherneck Magazine for Marines also on Sports Medicine, 2002. His professional certifications include Nuclear Weapons Radiological Controls Officer, 1981, Diving Medical Officer, 1988, Undersea Medical Officer, 1988, Qualified Submarine Medical Officer, 1989, Board Certified Family Practitioner, 1994 and CAQ-Sports Medicine, 1997.
We are also proud to share that Dr. Seufert is quite active within our community. He is currently a Vista High School Volunteer Team Physician, a member of the Vista Field Hockey Boosters Club and a member of the California Medical Association. Some of Dr. Seufert's hobbies include bicycling, playing the piano, wood turning, cheering for ol' Notre Dame (Go IRISH!) and he's a Padres baseball fan!
